Introduction to French Applied GCSE

New course: Edexcel GCSE in Applied French

  • Onscreen student-controlled assessments for listening and reading

In September 2007, this vocational course is offered both at KS3 and KS4 (Please note that this is NOT an easier GCSE as the same linguistic level will be required but in the context of work and students will be expected to prepare presentations to the rest of the class).

KS3: One class of year 9 students will be studying within the Leisure and Tourism Context.

KS4: Some year 10 students will be studying within the three contexts: Business / Leisure & Tourism / or Media & Communications.

For the students studying Media & Communications, there will be a Film Animation Club run by Miss Rayner which could be used in conjuction with the course as student could write a transcript in French and have their films shown in other schools.

For the students studying Business, the Oxford Business Dictionary is highly recommended.oxford Business Dictionary
